As the author recognizes, instant bitcoin purchases using a credit card and disclosing very little personal info seems like the holy grail for bitcoin brokers. But reversible credit card payments and irreversible bitcoin transfers just don't mix. Circle's business model is going to get utterly ruined by people who take advantage of the system.

Neither service should be used for any substantial amounts, like >$100, but if Circle truly enables buys/sells with no fees (except the 0.15 for banks), I see no reason to use Coinbase for purchases. Buy bitcoin nearly for free -> transfer to personal wallet immediately. You can't really beat that. 0.
You should have received an email from Circle the moment you requested an invite. Different people have different ideas about when the site opened. Same people think it was in June but I request my invite in February.
