16 lut 2023 · The Cho Dan Bo rank, the first level of black belt in the Tang Soo Do system, also represents mastery of the basic techniques and readiness to begin advanced training, as does the first Dan rank, the second level of black belt.
The black belts (or midnight blue belts) are called dans and each degree has its own specific name. The dan rank ranges from 1st through 9th degree. In the Moo Duk Kwan, dan level is known by its Korean numeration, such as cho dan (1st), ee dan (2nd) and sam dan (3rd), and onward.
Cho Dan Bo (dark blue): Maturity, respect and honour. Black Belt: Represents mastery, calmness, dignity and sincerity.
Blue Belt (Cho Dan Bo) must prepare mind and body for the final step needed to attain the Black Belt (Dan). Black Belt Holders (Yu Dan Ja) Black signifies Mastery, Calmness, Dignity, and Sincerity. The Black Belt represents the final stage of one life cycle and the beginning of the next.
Dark Blue represents maturity, respect and honor. Much has already been achieved and the student is (almost) at the ultimate goal of Tang Soo Do. The power and techniques is improved significantly. The Dark Blue Belt is awarded to the Cho Dan Bo of candidate for the Black Belt.
Pyung Ahn Cho Dan – “Peace and Confidence #1” – “Pyung” means peaceful, well balanced and calm; while “Ahn” means confident, comfortable and safe. Anyone mastering these forms can develop a feeling of “peace and confidence” in mind and body in any situation.
Our dark blue belt is given to the Cho Dan Bo or black belt candidate. He must now prepare mind and body to attain black belt. Black represents mastery, calmness, dignity, sincerity. Black belt is the final stage of one life cycle and the beginning of the next.
