The process of extracting chlorophyll from marine microalgae begins with dewatering and desalting the highly dilute microalgal culture (biomass concentration = 0.1–1% w/v). Chlorophyll is then extracted from the dried biomass by organic solvent extraction or supercritical fluid extraction.
1 wrz 2020 · Fat-soluble pigments from microalgae such as carotenoids and chlorophylls can be extracted either from dried biomass of microalgae [1, 14, 21, 22], or from the harvested wet biomass [16, 23, 24]. Most of the extraction process utilized freeze-drying of the microalgal biomass as the drying method.
20 kwi 2024 · In an effort to develop more environmentally sustainable dyeing platforms relying on the use of chlorophyll extracted from microalgal biomass, whether using commercial mordants to improve the wool fibers’ dyeability or not, the following three key steps were examined: first, the recovery of CuSO 4 from the aqueous solution used for washing ...
1 sty 2010 · This review discusses the process engineering of chlorophyll extraction from microalgae. Different chlorophyll extraction methods and chlorophyll purification techniques are evaluated.
17 mar 2023 · This study also investigates the kinetics of chlorophyll and carotenoid extraction from mixed microalgae at different operating conditions with methanol solvent for the first time.
26 kwi 2021 · Chlorophyll extraction can be performed from plant species, although microalgae are more productive, reaching values above 2.5% in dry mass (Vendruscolo et al. 2019).
1 sty 2012 · The use of organic solvents and supercritical fluids to extract microalgal chlorophyll on a commercial scale is examined. The use of chromatographic techniques to purify the recovered chlorophylls is also reviewed.
