Fishing. Year-round fishing at West Branch offers large and smallmouth bass, walleye, crappie, bluegill, catfish, and trophy-class muskellunge. Fishing access is available at launch areas as well as numerous shoreline access points. An accessible fishing pier is located by the Marina. Ohio fishing regulations apply.

There is year round fishing opportunity at the West Branch Wildlife Area. Large and smallmouth bass, muskellunge, and Northern pike can be taken in the spring by working the shorelines. Walleye, yellow perch, bass, and muskellunge can be found on submerged hummocks during the summer months.
West Branch Reservoir. Portage - Ohio. Rated as the best muskie water in the state. Many fish, including a possible state record. Lots of bass in the 12-to 6-inch range. Excellent launching and public use facilities.
24 maj 2024 · West Branch isn’t always our easiest lake to fish, but it gave us a look at some nice bass yesterday! This is always one of our favorite lakes to fish. With its undeveloped, natural shore lines, it is one of northeast Ohio’s remaining pristine gems without sea walls, docks and residences.
