And we report the recommendations from bar associations — groups of lawyers who interview and evaluate judicial candidates.
The CBA strongly encourages voters to utilize the findings to cast informed votes for judicial candidates who will be on the ballot in the June 28, 2022 primary election. The Judicial Evaluation findings are available on the CBA’s website at www.chicagobar.org/chicagobar/votejudges.

The Council evaluates candidates for judicial retention based on 12 criteria and assigns ratings of Qualified, Well Qualified, or Not Qualified. For the 2024 general election, the Council found 12 judges Well Qualified and 4 Not Qualified.
