ChessBase supports a relatively new endgame database format, the Syzygy Endgame Tablebases. Older versions only supported the Nalimov Endgame Tablebases, which are still supported in this version. The new format was designed by Ronald de Man from Holland. Most new chess engines already support this format.

Using these three resources in combination seems to be a promising way to explore chess in an analytically rigorous manner.
Endgame tablebases can only be described as "god chess" as they are perfect information on all positions they cover, and the terms 'better' or 'worse' cease to have any meaning. Marc Bourzutschky has trained and resolved a large number of the 8-piece tablebase positions and shared his results and findings, as well as insights in a video interview.
Put simply, tablebases are complete databases that provide perfect answers for a set number of pieces. In other words, a five-piece tablebase set, which knows all the positions for five pieces would be able to instantly tell you the answer for any position with the two kings plus any three pieces.
