Georges Perrier (born 1943) is a French chef who emigrated to the United States in 1967 and lived in Philadelphia, where he founded and ran Le Bec-Fin and other restaurants, bars and cafés across the country.
In 2009 the French government awarded Chef Perrier the Legion d’ Honneur. But the years had taken its toll on this perfectionist chef, who was married to his business. After the divorce with his wife, he announced his retirement in 2012 and served Le Bec-Fin’s last dinner on June 15, 2013.

Perrier landed in Philadephia in 1967 to become head chef of Peter von Starck’s La Panetière. Three years later, he opened his own restaurant in downtown Philadelphia. Perrier named the restaurant Le Bec-Fin, a French idiom for “the good taste.”. The small restaurant quickly became a Philadelphia institution.
