Format text in emails in Mail on Mac. There are a variety of ways to enter or work with text, characters, and symbols when you write a new message. Change fonts and styles. Go to the Mail app on your Mac. In a new message window, click in the toolbar. Click the button for an option you want to use.
You can choose to send email messages in plain text or rich text (HTML) format. Go to the Mail app on your Mac. Do any of the following in your message: Choose Format > Make Plain Text (available only when the current format is rich text).

1 gru 2019 · If you make a change to the default format, the message is sent as a styled message, using rtf or html (not sure which). And, in case it wasn't clear in the previous workaround, you have to set a different default "viewing" font from the one you want to send with.
