The best spot is in a window as high as possible. That window should be facing the transmitter antenna where the signals you are trying to receiver are originating from. There should be as little vegetation or other obstructions as possible along the path between that window and the transmitter antenna.
This antenna was working great until tonight over free air. We got close to it, touched a different electronic and then the antenna got wonky. To the point where the television was no long watchable. The cords and items have been moved before. We had that set up all last year and a half.
