26 cze 2023 · In Huron County, near the tiny community of Celeryville, lies some of Ohio’s most fertile soil. The rich, black soil known as muck is especially well suited to growing vegetables, and the land has been known to produce radishes from seed to harvest in less than three weeks.
1934 - There were 37 families and 27 farms in the Celeryville area farming a combined 210 acres of celery. 1940 - The 3rd generation of the Wiers family began taking on responsibility at the farm. The five sons of Edd Wiers -- Henry, Frank, Corwin, Norman, and Eddy -- took over the operation.
14 cze 1988 · It owns a fleet of 80 semis, which ship Wiers Farm produce to every major city from Houston to Chicago, from New York to Miami. Henry's seven great-grandsons run the farm these days. They tend to be blue-eyed and blond, ranging in age from 25 to 40, six feet or taller.

26 lis 2019 · In 1934, the village contained 37 families and 27 farms. As the twentieth century progressed, farms consolidated, and today three remain: Buurma Farms, Wiers Farms, and Holthouse Farms. These farms are owned and operated by the descendants of original Dutch migrants to the area.
