6 sie 2019 · UPDATE: In order for CDi emulation to continue working, you need to get the updated cdimono1 bios file from mame. It was updated some time ago and CDi emulation on newer mame versions without the updated bios file is broken.
The bios file cdimono1.zip can be obtained from a modern MAME romset. It should be put in this folder /roms/bios/same_cdi/bios/.
15 paź 2019 · 1: Import your Phillips CD-i roms into Launchbox (CHD format is preferred for your roms, bin/cue files don't seem to work well. If you already have bin/cue files you can convert them to CHD). 2: Make sure you have correct CD-i bios file (cdimono1) in your Mame > roms folder. 3: Set Mame as your emulator.
19 kwi 2016 · Hi all, Through some experimentation I thought I would write a little tutorial to help others get their MAME/MESS Console emulation up and running. This kinda started earlier today when I pm'ed @Antropus for some assistance in getting MAME setup to run Philips CD-I roms.
SAME_CDI is a Single Arcade/Machine Emulator for libretro, forked from MAME libretro, which is a fork of MAME (it's the SAME, get it?), and compiles only the Philips CD-I driver, and then sorts out the claptrap of loading the CD file for emulating. The name removes the name MAME altogether, as thats what I gather the MAME folks want for a fork ...
"cdimono1.zip" (required) and "cdibios.zip" & "cdimono2.zip" (optional) need to be inside "RetroArch\system\same_cdi\bios" folder. Also, make sure they are from a recent MAME romset. These files were updated in MAME's romset in 2020.
SAME CDi is a S(ingle) A(rcade) M(achine) E(mulator) for libretro, forked from MAME libretro, which is in turn a fork of MAME. It includes only the Philips CD-i driver, and simplifies the loading of CD content to provide a 'plug and play' experience.
