30 mar 2024 · This is the source code of Cave Game (aka Minecraft pre-classic) version rd-132211, which is the earliest version you can download from the launcher. This is not the original files from Notch, it was reversed engineered, but it contains the exact same things from the original version.

Cave Game was based on an earlier game that Notch had created called "RubyDung". The demo consisted of only Cobblestone and Grass, and was made to visualize how caves could be generated. There were no gamemode options. A player was placed in a flat world and was free to explore.
