For the cwdt+ec+ic combo, I usually level the gems to around lvl 12-15. This means it'll trigger when 1500-2000 damage is taken. Since I use it to prevet potential burst damage that would kill me in 1-3 seconds, I don't need for it to trigger unless I take AT LEAST half/a third of my health.
