Address changes MUST be conducted online. If you would like a copy of your driver license or ID with the new address, you can order a replacement license after you have processed your address change.
You are NOT eligible to change your address online if you: Do not currently have a California DL/ID card. Do not have a social security number. Have a commercial driver’s license (CDL) issued by California and your residence address is in another state.
If you are not a U.S. citizen and have recently moved to New Jersey, you can transfer your out-of-country license for a standard New Jersey license with the required documents or a Real ID with the required documents. Make an appointment for a transfer from out-of-state.
Fill out Auto License Application or Non-Driver ID Application and submit it, with your documents and fees, at one of the counters. Have your photo taken. Your new license or non-driver ID will be mailed to you.
Individuals with foreign driver’s licenses who want a NJ license must begin a new application process. For the standard licenses that will become available to immigrants without status on May 1st, 2021, a foreign driver’s license with a photo is worth 4 points, but must be presented with another government-issued document.
