If you are playing a male Hawke Anders sits better with me since he's canonically bisexual as you'll see in a quest and his character and personality meshes with Male version. The male romance was not bad, not as exciting to me as other characters. My canon Hawke is male and 2H. Aggressive personality type who wants to protect mages (so pro-mage, naturally) and him and Anders was my favourite romance of DA2 hands down. The only difference that matters is asking him if he wants a sandwich.
