I had a sneaking suspicion though, and after contacting customer support at Audible, they said they had refunded me nearly all the money that had been taken from me over the years without my knowledge or consent, and that they had cancelled my Audible membership.
Audible support line said I had to call Amazon, Amazon said I had to call digital subscriptions, digital Subscriptions AI told me to call Audible then hung up. Called back, did not mention Audible and got a real person, finally cancelled.

You are getting access to audiobooks in exchange for money so definitely not a scam. Take your audible app log in information to audible.com and it’s easy to cancel. Any credits on the account at the time of canceling are lost so use them before canceling.
