Yes, as Phpr says, there really aren't many different passenger rail services in Canada. (However, a quick Google search finds that there are plenty of tour companies that will repackage those trips in umpteen ways.) For simplicity, go straight to the company that actually operates the rail service:
Hi, we are researching visiting the Canadian Rockies via rail. We have come across 2 websites - canadarail.ca (Canada Rail Vacations) and, of course Rocky Mountaineer. There are plenty of reviews of Rocky Mountaineer but nothing in Trip Advisor about canadarail.ca that I can find.
This past July I did and independent tour to Glacier National Park with vacations by rail. Sue was my consultant with vacations by rail and arranged everything. The accommodations on the train were exactly what I wanted and the hotel and transportation arrangements all went without a problem.
