15 wrz 2011 · "Any 7-speed Shimano Hyperglide Freehub will actually work with 8 or 9 sprockets, without any modification! What you need to do is to use 8 of the sprockets from a 9-speed cassette, with the 9-speed spacers -- or 9 of the sprockets from a 10-speed cassette.
5 lut 2016 · Two ways to make this work perfectly are to use an 8 speed cassette, or if you have a 6/7 speed body only, use an 8 speed cassette and leave out a cog. (sheldon's "seven of eight" method). The derailleur pull ratio is the same but the shifter pull length and cassette spacing are different.
