6 lip 2007 · Sure you can use 10w30 in place of 2 stroke oil. Be prepared for more smoke and build up on the exhaust port. In short it's not such a great idea when two stroke oil is readily available.

Obviously a 10W-10 motor oil won't have the film strength to prevent engine wear at full operating temperature like a 5W-20, 10W-30 or 5W-30 motor oil for example.
When it comes to 10W40 vs 10W30 in a motorcycle, either grade will work, but choose a variant that protects the clutch. In the end, either 10W30 or 10W40 would probably be fine in moderate climates and conditions. But the higher the heat, the more you might want to lean toward a 10W40 oil.
