3 kwi 2019 · For years, vandals have taken a heavy toll at Camp Fire Girls’ Camp Yallani. Last week the organization learned nature has become the cruelest vandal of all. Snow surveyors taking measurements in the area last week reported that the main lodge has collapsed, apparently under the weight of the heaviest snowfall in years.
30 sty 2023 · Camp Yallani was a Campfire Girls facility on the shores of Kingsley Reservoir, where girls would go for a week at a time in the summer to learn to swim, build a fire, arts and crafts, and the like. This image is titled “Leaving Camp.” The bus full of girls kicking up a cloud of dust as it crosses the dam headed in to town.

27 kwi 2016 · A number of Los Angeles area camps have been located in the San Bernardino Mountains; these include Wasewagan, Nawakwa, Li Tanda and Yallani near Seven Oaks, Metaka, Hemohme and Deer Ridge near Wrightwood, Wintaka at Running Springs, Cohila at Big Bear Lake, and the elusive Mawahua.
31 sty 2023 · It looks like the girls at Camp Yallani were learning to make dinner on the campfire by wrapping everything in aluminum foils and tossing it in the fire “until done”. I’m guessing the county health inspector wouldn’t need a thermometer to verify these girls has successfully cooked their dinner.
2 sty 2020 · Having also been a camper at Yallani during earlier years, I hope others see this and maybe we could arrange some type of mini reunion and, as Nels requests, pull together a bit of history.
