1 gru 2021 · Koza Gate 2 Street is a very popular for Militaries in Okinawa and also local Okinawan. The “Gate 2” is named after Kadena Air Base Gate #2 which is located on the street. Its getting slower than old days such as 60s~80s, but still hot street in Okinawa city.
Koza, officially known as Okinawa City, is located in the heart of central Okinawa about 20 kilometers north of Naha. Koza is Okinawa’s second-largest city and covers 49 square kilometers. The city’s main commercial district is adjacent to Kadena, the US military air base, and many shops and restaurants have signs and menus in Japanese and English.
Gate Street, also known as Kadena Gate 2 Street, connects the Kadena Air Base Gate 2 to Route 330. The street used to be one of the busiest shopping streets in Okinawa City, but is now best known for Koza Music Town that is located at the intersection of the Gate Street and Route 330.

31 sty 2005 · The street into which Gate #2 of what became Kadena Air Base led into Koza, was called "Gate 2 Street". Gate 2 Street was about 1/4 mile long and housed wall-to-wall bars and restaurants catering to US Servicemen of all services, but primarily Air Force and Army.
20 kwi 2018 · After the Battle of Okinawa, refugee camps were established all over the island to shelter the war-torn Okinawan people. One of these camps was built in Goeku Village, in a subdistrict called Goya. Bordering Goya was Koja, a district belonging to the neighboring Misato Village.
This street is right out the Gate of Kadena Air Base. It has many various places (restuarants, bars, clubs, shopping, etc.) Great place to walk around and some areas get you out of the sun.
