The California State Board of Education set five benchmarks to indicate a student’s proficiency. These levels are Advanced, Proficient, Basic, Below Basic, and Far Below Basic. The percent correct determines the performance level, which differs according to the grade and the level.
The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), known until February 2014 as the Measurement of Academic Performance and Progress (MAPP), measures the performance of students undergoing primary and secondary education in California. In October 2013, it replaced the Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) Program.
9 sie 2024 · The primary purpose of the CAASPP System is to assist teachers, administrators, students, and parents by promoting high-quality teaching and learning through the use of a variety of assessment approaches and item types. Standards (CA NGSS) and consists of both discrete questions and PTs. It is administered every year to all eligible students in grades 5, 8, and once in high school. Beginning with the 2021-22 academic year, the CAST will follow a revised blueprint ; students will answer fewer discrete test questions and will respond to a minimum of three PTs.
