The Caldor Fire started on August 14, 2021 and has burned nearly 220,000 acres in El Dorado National Forest, Lake Tahoe Basin, and in El Dorado, Amador, and Alpine counties. The fire incident response team announced the fire was contained on October 21, 2021.
