There's too much keybinds for it to work with a controller. I'd say you can, but you will be missing out on rage and adrenaline, as well as the armour set bonuses. To answer your question, yes, Terraria on PC can work with a controller so therefore TModLoader and Calamity will as well, at least with basic functions.
