Cottrell James Hunter III (December 14, 1968 – November 28, 2021) was an American shot putter, coach, and the 1999 World Champion. Hunter is well known for his involvement in the BALCO scandal and as the former spouse of sprinter Marion Jones.

21 sie 1999 · At Seville, on 21 August, Hunter was lying second in the shot put final with a best throw of 21.09m, before he unleashed a career-best throw of 21.79m (see photo above) on his final attempt to win the gold medal.
