What You'll Need to Take a Test. Your Student ID card, a government-issued ID card, or a current picture ID including BYU ID app. A #2 pencil for multilpe choice tests- If you don't have a #2 pencil, you may purchase a pencil at the Testing Center for 35¢.
Be sure to schedule your exam time at least 24 hours in advance. Follow these steps to request an online exam: Sign into your course. Go to the exam folder or page in your course and request the exam. If you are requesting a final exam, make sure you have completed all previous course requirements.

BYU Independent Study works with thousands of local proctors worldwide but also provides a free online testing service for your convenience. If you are enrolled in a class that requires paper exams (e.g., math or a world language) and cannot find a local proctor, please contact us at is_exam@byu.edu for assistance. Find a Proctor.
