20 mar 2011 · I load 44 Magnum with Bullseye, I usually load to 44 Special velocities for plinking, 4.5 grains behind a 240gr cast bullet. The Lee manual shows 8.9-9.3 grains Max when using 240gr Jacketed bullets and 8.9-9.8 grains Max with 240gr lead bullets in 44 Magnum.

A few of the excellent powders for .44 Magnum Target Loads are Universal, 231 and Bullseye.
15 kwi 2010 · Unless you inherited a few 8lb cans of it there are far better powders for the mission. Bullseye, Red Dot, and Green Dot will all show some pretty significant variations in pressure in .357/.44 mag loads as you ramp up. Fine for mild loads, not so fine with max loads.

He liked a full-power load for this bullet at 1,400 fps with 22 grains of 2400 powder. For a “light gallery load,” he used 5 grains of Bullseye, and for “outdoor targets” 8.5 grains of Unique. If you want to shoot long range with a .44 Magnum, try Hornady’s LEVERevolution 225-grain FTX bullets.
