7 lis 2019 · I bought a Buck manufactured 188 (M9) Bayonet back in early 1989 from the BX at Little Rock AFB. I was doing some research on it, and it seems I might have a somewhat rare version. It's stamped with the 1987 date code ">" on the blade ricasso.
4 gru 1998 · Would be intersted in finding out if there is any collectors value to the M9 Buck model 188. I belive the one I have was manufactured in 1994. The kife is in 85% condition. This knife also has a green handle. It sounds like a standard issue bayonet to the military to me.
9 cze 2008 · First off is a Buck 188. Looks just like an M-9 bayonet, but when I retired from the Army in 1994, the only M-9's I had seen were marked M9 and U.S. If I read the year marker correctly, this was made in 1996, and I found some information that it was commercial, not military.
Do you know any really good m9 bayonets, I love the way the smith & Wesson one looks but the reviews weren’t to good and they say the durability sucked on it. Stick with a real one, I.e. issued. IMHO In order of quality: Phrobis made by Buck.
3 sie 2016 · The M9 bayonet you have was made concurrently, or maybe right after the military Phrobis M9, but was not used by the US military. Even so, they are very collectible and command as much or more than a Phrobis M9.
7 paź 2020 · I picked up this bayonet, mainly due to condition and now trying to figure out if this is a commercial contract or a military contract M9. There seems to be a bit of confusion between commercial and military contracts with Buck.
16 lut 2022 · I acquired my Black Oxide 1991 BUCK 188 last January 2021. It was an internet purchase. It's rare enough. Neyman's book has it at estimated 339 made. All the info is on page 330. 339 bayonets made between the breakup and the end of the year. Only the Buck 188+ USA stamp on ricasso, blank on other side.
