GGB-DB bearings consist of a support structure cast from one of four available high-quality bronze alloys. Embedded in this structure are solid lubricant inserts or plugs, providing continuous lubrication for low friction and wear rates and long service life.
Common bushing materials include bronze containing graphite and oil, thermoplastic materials with self-lubricating properties, nylon and PTFE. The bushing design can be customized according to the application requirements to ensure wear resistance and low coefficient of friction.
SKF sintered bronze bushings consist of a sintered metallic bronze and graphite matrix (1% weight of graphite) with fully impreg-nated porosity. The material composition of SKF sintered bronze bushings is SINT A51 with a porosity volume of 28%, impregnated with mineral oil. Machining or grinding of the sliding surface of a porous sintered
23 lip 2002 · A general rule of thumb for bronze journal bushings is 0.001" clearance on the diameter per inch of shaft diameter up to the first 5" or so. On larger shafts, less. I'd make the bushing ID about 0.005" oversize (after press fit) and grease groove it appropriately. Use SAE 660 bronze. Best Regards, Mike mike@usmech.net
DANLY Sintered Bronze Bushings set a new standard of performance for stamping die guide bushings. A layer of bronze is sintered to the inside diameter of a steel bushing, creating a mechanical bond at the bronze / steel interface stronger than that of traditional plated bushings.
Design and application of 360-degree bronze bearings is fully covered in this Design Manual for full-film, boundary, and mixed-film lubrication. New de sign methods and numerous graphs reduce actual calculations to a minimum for quick determination of bearing configurations.
