While some ski areas closed during World War II due to shortage of materials and skiers, Bromley stayed open. In early 1942, it was said that the lower tow at Bromley (possibly the Little Bromley tow) was one of the few open on weekdays.

10 lut 2012 · Fred Pabst was still lurking about the mountain at that point but would soon sell it to Stig Albertsson, a Connecticut businessman. Cueman became the resort's treasurer, and eventually vice president, when Albertsson in turn sold Bromley to the owners of Stratton Mountain ski area in 1979, Cueman said.
