A broken wrist, or wrist fracture, is a common injury that can affect any of the 10 bones that make up your forearm and wrist. The radius is most often affected. Falls on an outstretched hand are the most common cause of a broken wrist.
23 mar 2015 · Some wrist fractures can be treated through simple setting and casting until the bone heals in it’s proper position. However, other instances require operative treatment with a full post-surgical wrist fracture recovery.
Fracture Radius. Treatment can vary depending on the location and type of fracture. Surgery may be performed to wire, pin or plate the bones if fragments are displaced, followed by a period in a cast or splint. If surgery is not required a cast or splint may still be used for a period of time.
