10 maj 2022 · There is mounting evidence that the agrammatism that defines Broca's aphasia can be explained in processing terms. However, the extant approach simply describes agrammatism as disparate deficits in a static, mature system. This tutorial aims to motivate and outline a developmental alternative.
The present study describes the rehabilitation of a case diagnosed as chronic Broca’s aphasia, with agrammatism, using a method directed to sentence structural deficits.
Background/Introduction: Individuals with agrammatic Broca’s aphasia frequently are treated at single word level, verb priming, or simple sentence structure treatments. In this study, an impairment specific treatment such as Verb Network Strengthening Treatment (VNeST) was explored as well as a social functional approach such as Script Therapy.
Objective: To examine the impact of two treatment approaches: Script Therapy and Verb Network Strengthening Treatment for two individuals with chronic agrammatic Broca’s aphasia. Method: The method used in this study was a single subject multiple baseline alternating treatment across participants’ design.
15 paź 2024 · Considering the interaction of explicit and implicit learning in agrammatism, the aim of this study was to verify the effect of Mapping Therapy and ORLA methods on the oral and written production in spontaneous language of six agrammatic patients with Broca’s aphasia.
Objective: To verify the effect of adapted Mapping Therapy and ORLA methods (explicit versus implicit learning) on the oral and written production in spontaneous language among agrammatic patients with Broca's aphasia.
In this article, we discuss recent findings derived from these neuroimaging techniques in studies focused on neuroplasticity of language networks, the role of the left and right hemisphere in this process, and the effect of treatment on the neurobiology of recovery.
