16 lis 2015 · I hear a lot of people saying the SD-1 doesn't work so well with single coils and/or Fender style amps, but allegedly the Custom Mode in the SD-1W go some way to fixing that. Interested to hear people's experiences.
15 lis 2023 · I had high hopes for the Boss Super Overdrive SD-1, considering its legendary reputation and the countless tales of its brilliance and reliability (it is a Boss pedal). However, after spending some quality time with the SD-1, I must admit that I’m somewhat disappointed that it just didn’t do it for me.
NPD: 40th Anniversary Boss SD-1, also posted to dispel a myth. Good quality SMD sounds just as good as quality through-hole. Sucks for modders though. I read a thread elsewhere in which people were arguing about this thing.

Into a tube amp set clean-ish or just past the edge of overdrive, the SD-1 can evoke an instant rock vibe or provide the perfect solo gain and voicing boost.
Well, that is very much the focal point of the Boss beast known as SD-1. As the name indicates, this stompbox creates the sound you get when you kick overdrive into high gear. It's affordable and has all the features of standard Boss pedals, meaning sturdiness, reliability and quality tone.
I recently put a slightly chipped 40th anniversary DS-1 on eBay expecting £20-30 for it, didn’t even advertise it as the limited version but obviously had the photo up. It had over 60 watchers and auctioned for about £20 more than a brand new one!
