6 maj 2021 · A stalling boat engine is likely caused by: A bad spark plug. Clogged air box. Bad fuel. Low compression. Bad airflow sensor. Bad carburetor. Damaged fuel line. Basically, you’re going to have to isolate the problem and try to figure out what is giving you this massive headache.
If your outboard stalls whenever you drop it into idle, the problem usually lies with the carburetor. It might be something as simple as the carburetor idling screw needing a small adjustment, so check that first and adjust it if needed. Check the Fuel Injection.
17 sie 2017 · You get them up to operating temperature with the flame arrestor removed then spray this into the intake until the end of the can and then try to choke out the motor to stall (might be kinda easy for you...).
31 lip 2020 · I know there could be a 100 reasons why your boat is stalling in low gear but after checking the fuel pump, fuel lines and filters, spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor, engine timing, throttle cables alignment and rebuilding the carburetor the tiny little fumes on top of the engine gave it away.
AIR issues: Not getting enough air can be caused by a dirty/collapsed air cleaner, a leaking turbo hose, a filthy aftercooler or air restriction inside the aftercooler, a worn out or partially stuck turbo, or a poorly ventilated engine room. Any combo of these can restrict air to the engine causing dark smoke and further, low power.
12 sty 2009 · Only recent work that I've done on the boat (Before the problem started) it is that I was trying to diagnose the fuel gage not working properly and I removed the fuel sender. There was some corrosion around it, so I'm thinking that maybe some corrosion got into the gas.
