Malaysia Bank Lending Rate data is updated monthly, averaging 5.311 % pa from Jan 1996 to Aug 2024, with 344 observations. The data reached an all-time high of 13.540 % pa in May 1998 and a record low of 3.277 % pa in Jan 2022. Malaysia Bank Lending Rate data remains active status in CEIC and is reported by CEIC Data.
Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has on 3 November 2022 decided to increase the Overnight Policy Rate (OPR) by 25 basis points to 2.75 percent. Historically, Standardised Base Rate (SBR), Base Rate (BR) and Base Lending Rate (BLR) has moved in tandem with the OPR. The OPR was last changed in 8 September 2022.
