6 kwi 2010 · they're just different because people tend to want bigger tires in the front for traction and smaller tires in the back for speed... and because it's sometimes difficult to have fatties in the back. It's all preference though when it comes down to it.

I ran dual 2.4 tires for the first year. After getting more into the sport and researching (bike checks, forums etc.), I saw a LOT of ppl are running a larger front and then a smaller rear tire (for example a 2.4 in front and 2.25 in the rear). And that's what I've ran the past year and a halfISH.
While it rides dirt and ramps like a champ street stuff is hard. If you are wanting to do more tech street stuff like spins out of grinds, you want something with a steep ht angle (75°+), and a short tt (20.5" - 20.75"). With a steep ht angle the bike becomes more twitchy.
So I have been looking for some 2.5 BMX tires that can hold up at least 100 psi. I have the Merritt Brandon Begin Phantom tires in mind but they only come in black and puke green. And there is not many tires at 2.5 available for me.
17 lut 2013 · Some new tires can be run at 110psi, but make for a bumpy ride. Get to your LBS and ask the techs. Find the local shop that caters to racers and shop exclusively there.
