23 cze 2007 · SMG is a manual transmission with a clutch and operates via computer. It performs clutch engagement and disengagement, at the same time, shifting into the proper gear. Honestly, regualr e46 SMG sucks.

Except for the hydraulic pump/mechanism that automatically engages the clutch and changes the gears for you, the SMG transmission is EXACTLY the same as the manual transmission. 24 lip 2009 · It is a semi manual gearbox and to my understanding it is nowhere near the smg2. Its basically a manual transmission with a hydro shifter acting as your clutch when you shift up or down. It does have a lag compared to the smg on the m3's.
