7 mar 2024 · The solution depends on the model year of your vehicle and your original equipment. The head units on 2016 and older vehicles have only 2GB of memory, leading to bugs and crashes when attempting to retrofit, as I found out. The answer in this case is to replace the head unit with a later unit with 4GB of memory.
13 lut 2021 · I have issues with it turning off and rebooting several times within the first 5 minutes or so of use. After about 5 minutes it is fine. I am wondering if it needs a software update but I am unable to find out where to get the software for my specific model/version.
I have 2016 Rex and installed the Road Top unit myself 5 days ago. It worked well BUT then “high voltage deactivated” error and “drivetrain error” both came on. The car would not turn on and I had to have it towed to BMW. BMW fixed it and they gave me a choice of leaving it in or taking it out for me.

8 lis 2023 · I do sometimes get into my car and CarPlay doesn't connect, so I have to go to the mobile devices app, and manually check off the CarPlay box. Happens maybe 1x per month.
After a week of driving, my only gripe with the car is that it lacks Apple Carplay. While the iDrive system is certainly sufficient for most tasks (e.g. playing music from my phone), I find navigation with the iDrive system to be, well, cumbersome, at best.
13 sie 2020 · It prevents enabling enough slack in the main monitor cable to run down to the carplay unit. Did you run into this problem with your right-hand drive car? How did you overcome it?
