27 sty 2009 · I just completed replacing the oil separator (and a few misc hoses) and your step-by-step guide was spot on, thanks so much. For those considering this tasks, know that you can do it. Take your time, follow the process, take pictures and label things if you need to.
14 sty 2011 · 1. the first hose:from valve cover (near vanos) to bottom of oil separator , fairly easy to install, just be gentle, from the valve cover it will route under the intake manifold. 2. Hose 2 - from side of oil separator to left side of top of manifold - be prepared for hell.
9 sty 2012 · Can't seem to find a DIY on replacing the oil separator & associated hoses. Can someone point me in the right direction. Seems like it is another common failure point with these cars as I have found lots of posts saying as much.
The advice i've seen so far suggests that the intake manifold needs to be removed - it doesn't. Here's some simple instructions on how to do it. Whilst i didn't take any pics, i refer to the terminology on the parts catalogue, e.g. http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/E9...oil_separator/. Preparation.
19 lut 2016 · A BMW E36 oil separator valve replacement is a very straightforward repair and can be easily performed by the home mechanic. Contrary to other repair articles, you do not need to remove the intake manifold on the BMW E36 engine to extract the oil separator valve from underneath it.
