Pressurized oil would leak back into the sump rather than following the correct path with the cooler kit installed. I had a couple of dealerships look at the engine oil filter housing cavity and the kit components.

  4. 8 mar 2019 · The oil cooler thermostat is mainly there to keep the oil cooler from prolonging engine warmup. An engine really shouldn't be ran hard unless it reaches 180degrees (160 is the bare minimum). They usually also have a backpressure bypass incase the cooler gets plugged.
