So BMW testing confirmed my batteries were below minimum rated conditions. And I am pleased to report they were exchanged at no cost for me. Back to 23 Km 100 % charged.
So the BMW i8 can be driven normally or economically, on petrol, on battery, or on both. On electric power the i8 is predictably near-silent and very refined – as well as front-wheel drive. However it remains very civilised in petrol and hybrid modes.
21 sty 2019 · yes it's possible to upgrade the 20 Ah packs to 34 Ah - i just finished a project using the 6 34Ah packs from a SP41 gen. 4 hv battery from a damaged 2022 BMW 745e with 20.000 km's - this involves making 6 T-shaped wiringlooms ( 1 connector on battery to 2 connectors of original CSC's ) and fitting 3 extra NTC's per cell pack.

10 wrz 2013 · The BMW i8 comes as standard in the UK with AC Charging which sees a 3.7kW charge power up the BMW i8 battery from zero to 80 per cent within two hours. This can be performed by the optional BMW i Wallbox.
The i8 batteries are fine in the new model and in this offer. I would like 50% more range in the same size/weight package but not badly. Less weight same range would also be fine.
