I removed one of mine to try and adapt a carbon fiber tip I found but the inlet diameter was too small to fit over the exhaust tube (once the tip had been removed). Tips are easy to take off but a little trickier to get back on straight.

7 wrz 2017 · I've just bought a spare pair of R100/7 heads and one head has some damaged exhaust threads. I have a 12 x 36 lathe and a milling machine, so I was thinking of making a jig to hold the head and spin it in the lathe, so could machine the new weld down and then re-cut the thread.
To remove the stock tips, all you need to do is pull real hard. Wear thick workmen's gloves, sit on the floor, push your foot against the rear tyre and pull the tips with all your might. It'll slide right off. It's a little hard because of the pins on top but it's possible (that's how I did it).
