Had to call blink support to get "no subscription" install to completely install (deleted initial account and started a new one). It seemed to record video to the usb stick on motion alerts but replaying them on my phone was more miss than hit.
Blink customer service is the reason I am switching to another system. Flat out customer service sucks NO return calls , no email response. They don't notify you when an item is no longer updatable . Date of experience: October 06, 2024
I gambled a bit on the Blink and have been fairly happy with them, but given that the app kinda sucks, I'd definitely be researching other options if there was a subscription fee.
Blink is a garbage, money-grabbing scam. You cannot use your own storage and the price for a plus subscription (unless you want to pay for each camera storage individually. If anyone is looking for Blink cameras I have three and a Doorbell cam.

For longer storage, you can purchase additional cloud storage plans or insert an SD card into the camera for local storage.
9 wrz 2023 · Calls to customer service go unanswered and only result in used minutes on cell phone requiring recharge if I wait for 20 minutes or more. Unsatisfactory. Phone not on do not disturb so this should not be happening.
15 wrz 2023 · If you own a Blink Camera, you can use it without paying the monthly subscription fees. However, by doing so, you will miss out on two crucial benefits that the camera offers. Without a subscription, Blink does not let you record any videos and upload them on cloud storage which you can view later.
