Blessing on Affixing a Mezuzah Before affixing a mezuzah to a doorpost, the following blessing is recited: Hebrew י-ינָ-י דָ-י א ה אתָּ-י א ך ורוּבָָ-י ם ָ-יל ועוה אָ-י ך ֶך ל ֶך וני-יה אֵ-י ולֶך א ויתָ-י ווְווצ ִצְו בְָוו ונשָ-י דִצְוקְוו רוּשֶך א
Before affixing the mezuzah to the doorpost, the following blessing should be recited: בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ Barukh atah Adonai Blessed are you, Lord

[The mezuzah, its top inclining inward, is then affixed to the upper part of the doorpost on the right, as one enters the house.

Recite Likbo'a Mezuzah (see the blessing below) and affix the mezuzah about shoulder level on the selected door post. The Shehecheyanu blessing is also said at this time. Note: A mezuzah is normally put up within 30 days of moving into a new home or apartment, though any time is a good time to affix one that is missing!
