Gin Ichimaru is a Shinigami and the former captain of the 3rd Division of the Gotei 13, until he betrayed Soul Society, alongside Sōsuke Aizen and Kaname Tōsen. His lieutenant was Izuru Kira. Gin saves Rangiku Matsumoto when he finds her after Aizen used her in his experiments and he swears to kill Aizen.
