See sketches 1 and 2 for typical piping configurations. Tanks are pre-charged at 12 psi (83kPa). Before installing the tank, check the charge with an automotive tire gauge. If the tank charge is not at the desired psi, bleed off or fill to the psi required.
9. Tank connection piping and air separators with air vents should be arranged so that the air will not be trapped in the tank. When possible, connect the piping with the pitch down to the tank, using air vents as illustrated in the sketches. 10.On a closed system, connect the tank on the suction side of the pump.
This article series describes how to determine the proper air pressure setting in a bladder-type well tank, when, and how to actually change the air pressure in the water tank. The page top photo shows the author testing the air pressure in a Well-X-Trol bladder type well tank.
Check air valve for leakage. If evident, replace with shrader type tire valve core. Do not depend on the valve cap to seal the leak. After making sure air charge is correct, replace pipe plug over charging valve for protection. 6. Set tank in place and pipe system connection to system. Be sure to include isolation valve(s) and drain.
3 maj 2023 · Remove pipe plug covering the valve enclosure. Check and adjust the charge pressure by adding or releasing air for each application. Set tank in place and pipe system connection to system. Be sure to include isolation valve and drain. Do not loosen nuts on cover plate; this will result in loss of pre-charge.
The ANSUL Horizontal Pre-Piped Bladder Tank is a complete balanced pressure proportioning system inclusive of a propor-tioner and all of the valves and piping required for either manual or automatic operation.
Drain the bladder tank as much as possible through the drain valve installed between the system isolation valve and the tank. Compressed air may be added through the charging valve to assist in draining the tank. Depress the air valve (fig. 1) to remove most of the air.
