Black Marsh, also known as Argonia, is one of the nine provinces of Tamriel. It is the home of the Argonians , the reptilian natives of this swampland rainforest. The province is filled with "great inland waterways and impenetrable swamps."
Giant spore trees that tower over almost everything else in Black Marsh, extending their branches and their roots far out across the swamps, dotting the swamp itself in various places, mostly spiritual in their existence, widely regarded and revered in Argonian culture.
My theory is that all the flora and fauna of Black Marsh has been "contaminated" - in different degrees - by Hist's sap. This is because the ultimate goal of the Hist is the terraforming of Argonia. The sap is dispersed in the environment both through Hist's roots, which digging the ground reach impressive distances, and through insects.
