With the reauthorization of the 2001 Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), commonly known as No Child Left Behind (NCLB), Michigan embarked on a standards revision process, starting with the K-8 mathematics and ELA standards that resulted in the Grade Level Content Expectations (GLCE).
