I received an email with the PayPal logo on it stating I made a bitcoin purchase from CoinBase for $548.15 (I did not) and that the charge mode would be from my my debit checking account.
19 maj 2024 · You can forward scam emails to PayPal at spoof@paypal.com. Report phishing text messages by copying the original message and forwarding it to SPAM (7726). It also helps to file an FTC complaint at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
6 maj 2024 · Using graphics and templates matching PayPal’s official billing emails, the scammers craft convincing fake invoices stating recipients owe money for an unauthorized cryptocurrency purchase. The emails contain realistic order codes, wallet addresses, blockchain transaction IDs and other crypto-related terminology.
Someone sent me an email saying I have placed an order to buy Bitcoin via PayPal. My order should show in my PayPal account in the next 10-15 hours and if I wish to cancel, I have to call their Billing Department.

Many fraudsters send spoofed emails warning you that your account is about to be suspended. The email will ask you to enter your password on a (spoofed) webpage.
