Choosing between Birch and Maple drums is tricky, but in terms of versatility and the range of drum set options available for todays drummers, I’d have to say that Maple wins! Contents.

Maple typically has more body (aka resonance) and longer sustain. It has a richer and warmer tone. Personally, I prefer the full body and warmth of Maple. It sounds more "pleasing" to my ears.
